Germ-Zapping Robot Can Fight against Ebola and Other Deadly Viruses

A new germ-zapping ROBOT might facilitate stop the unfold of deadly viruses, like Ebola, in hospitals and some health care facilities within the U.S…

Standing slightly over five feet (1.5 meters) tall, the machine (Robot) — nicknamed "Saul" — uses pulses of high-intensity, high-energy ultraviolet rays to separate  open (Bacterial) cell walls and kill dangerous pathogens, said by Geri Genant, a health care services implementation manager with Xenex, the corporate that developed  the ‘SAUL’ Robot.

A surgical team at the U.S. Air Force Hospital Langley in Hampton, Virginia, was recently trained to use the virus-destroying mechanism, which might kill one strand of RNA (RNA) — the same as that of the viral hemorrhagic fever virus i.e. Ebola— in but five minutes, Genant said.

"Hospitals that have used this are able to bring infection rates down, in several cases [by] sixty p.c," Genant said that in a statement. The hospitals Genant was touching on were presumptively not those tormented by the viral hemorrhagic fever epidemic i.e. EBOLA virus.

The robot's latest pit stop, Langley Air Force Base, is home to the U.S. military's Medical cluster, a bunch of service members who recently came from AN assignment in geographic area. There, they were charged with putting in a medical support facility in one amongst the West African countries hardest hit by the viral hemorrhagic fever (EBOLA) happening, in line with the Air Force. The team conjointly trained international health care employees on the way to use the facility’s instrumentation.
Although the 633rd Medical cluster allegedly had no exposure to the Ebola virus or to viral hemorrhagic fever victims throughout its time in Africa, the U.S. military continues to be taking each precaution to stop viral hemorrhagic fever from spreading within the U.S., ought to one or additional of the military's recently came  service members fall unwell with the virus. Everybody attached the mission is being monitored doubly daily for 3 weeks once their come to the U.S., and so far, no symptoms of the virus are registered.

The new virus-killing Robot at Langley Air Force Base has one more precaution that provides patients, moreover as medical workers, with a further live of safety, same Marlene Kerchenski, the 633rd MDG medico general chief of nursing services.

Robotics World, EBOLA Treatment

Saul the robot's ultraviolet rays, that are twenty five thousand times brighter than florescent lights, will kill the pathogens that human hands miss, in line with officers at Xenex.

"Xenex has tested its full spectrum medical care system on twenty two microorganisms, finding out nearly 2000 samples in many  labs everywhere in the planet (world),"
Genant said. The larva (bot) will destroy viruses the same as viral hemorrhagic fever(EBOLA) with AN potency rate of ninety nine percent, she added.

Hospital workers at Langley can continue receive coaching on the correct use of the disinfecting machine (Robot), which will be used to eradicate and control the viruses throughout that hospital.

Simple 100W Inverter Circuit USing MOSFETs

100w inverter , UPS , Make ups in home, Homemade Ups

A power inverter or inverter is basically an electronic device or circuitry that changes dc (direct current)  to AC (alternating current).
The frequency, input voltage, output voltage and overall power handling depend on the design of the specific device or circuitry. No Power is produced by it, the power is provided by the DC Battery source. Inverter is also known as UPS(uninterruptible power supply). A inverter can be modified to a UPS by adjusting some relays.
Today we are going to know about making of an Inverter. It can be any ratting. I am designing for 100W Inverter.

inverter of 100W:

Componants used in making of an inverter:

  • Transformer 40 amps, 220 , (100 W)  (stepup)
  • Ic CD4047- click here to download datasheet.
  • Mosfet IRF540 Click Here to download DataSheet
  • Capacitor= 0.01uf, 220uf
  • battery= 12v ,40A
  • wires, soldering iron and wire.

Circuit Diagram:

Inverter using CD4047, inverter with mosfet irf540

Expalantion:

The inverter circuit is built around IC CD4047 which is wired as astable multivibrator.Dc supply is given to the Mosfets and mosfets convert that dc supply to Ac. The controlling factor is gate pulse which will be generated using 4047IC. The operating frequency of astable multivibrator is set to 50Hz. The values of Resistor and capacitor can be find fo 50Hz frequency by using below formula:
f=1/4.4RC

The pin number 5 and 4 of cd4047 are of Astable and Complement Astable. IC CD4047 will work in the astable multivibrator mode. To work it in this mode we need an external capacitor between the pin1 and pin3, whereas Pin2 is connected by a variable resistor to change the output frequency of the IC.The pins 10 and 11 are connected to the gate of the IRF540. The pins 10, 11 are Q and its Complement, from these pins the output frequencies is generated with 50% duty cycle.

The output frequency from CD4047 is then  connected to the mosfets through resistor. this resistor will helps in preventing the loading of mosfets. The main AC current is generated by the two mosfets which will act as a two electronic switches( which turns on and OFF by the pulses comming at the gate from CD-4047 mosfet). when the pin 10 becomes high Then the current from battery flows in the upper half of the primary coil of transformer through Q1 Mosfet, and when pin 11 is high then the current from battery flows in the lower half of the primary coil of transformer through Q2 Mosfet. By this switching the two mosfets current is generated.

This AC is then given to the transformer. From step up transformer we will get the max voltage i.e. 220v. Capacitor is used to stablize the output.

The Capacitor accross the battery is used for avoiding the Fluctuation in the supply voltage.

NOTE: The generated AC is not equal to the normal AC and You cannot use this voltage for pure electric appliances like electric cooker, heater etc. Because the fast switching of mosfets dissipates a heat which will effect the efficiency. You can use heat sink to remove this problem.
